Awaiting Departure at British Airways First Lounge, JFK Airport

Cathay Pacific operates out of Terminal 7 at JFK, which is operated by British Airways. In fact, according to Wikipedia, T7 is the only airport terminal in the U.S. To be operated by a foreign carrier. Just as the terminal is operated BA, so are the lounges. In this case, I was invited to the British Airways First Lounge, located just past security within the BA "Galleries" Lounge.

When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and promptly offered a wifi password. The BA First Lounge is small, but there weren't many other passengers there so it was very quiet and I had no trouble finding a place to sit.

The food spread was modest, but the drinks selection was abundant. I've heard that there is a "supper club" somewhere within the lounge, but I didn't go looking for it as I was saving my appetite for the plane. I suspect it is on the business class side. I took a couple slices of breakfast meats and a croissant, along with a large bottle of still water- I wanted to be well hydrated for the flight.

The lounge has a business center where you can get some work done and print stuff out if you're so inclined. My only complaint about the First Lounge is that the wifi was very slow.

There's nothing really special about this lounge, but it's definitely better than awaiting a flight at the gate, which is where I went about five minutes prior to my scheduled boarding time.

Up next, I'll post the one you've all been waiting for: my review of Cathay Pacific's first class.
